I see your point, but in pursuing my masters in natural resource management and sustainable development (and doing papers on mushroom harvesting in China/Tibet/worldwide) I am seeing very serious similarities in the literature, what's happening here in the "morel culture," and what has been the tragic outcome there...so on that point I'll just agree to disagree and move on.
FIDDLEHEADS...are probably one of the best pairings to morels as a spring seasonal dish I have yet to find. (Being a deer hunter as well) A fine medium rare/butter poached back-strap sauteed with morels, with roasted fiddleheads, and a red wine demi-glaze, is getting me imagining fields of both.
Fiddleheads are an extremely sustainable species, and in fact, can be planted like plantations in your own yard around shady fence lines for harvesting every year. They are extremely easy to clone and easy to propagate.

DD, do you think you can change the format of each topic to make the newest posts first instead of last? That way we don't have to jump to page 2 or 3 to catch up on the topic. Food for thought anyway. The admin settings do not allow me to change this. I do have code that I could apply to the forum, but it would change it for everyone. I think I will start a poll to see if the majority want me to change it. Also, I can turn on a setting that puts a chat window on the forum. Thoughts about me doing that? I think that big problem with that would be I can't really moderate a chat room. Or I could start a sub board that can essentiall be used like a chat room. I am just trying to think of ways that I can avoid posts that get off the topic of the thread.
