Just a heads up to my friends here. I made a terrible mistake and left my gps in view when I parked and had my car broken into and lots of things stolen including my fly rod and flies and all my mushroom bags and knives...but the biggest lesson I learned was never put the "home" button on your gps to go to your home! Thank goodness nothing was taken from my house but I just wanted to let you all know. Maybe I should just expect some people to be evil but I tend to lean towards the good and happy side of life. Set your "home" button for some random spot and have your house set as a code word you know. T

sorry to hear that your vehicle was broken into, did this happen when you were out hunting morels or fishing?

I was at work and planning on hitting a morel spot and trout stream after work...guess it was bad idea lol. At least my morel spots were not in the GPS

You could try my method, never own a vehicle that is worth more than your fly rod, you don’t even have to lock the doors. No one expects you to have a $600 fly rod in a $200 f-150 that wherever you park it looks like it has been there for years.
All kidding aside, sorry to hear about your loss. I have lost a number of very good rods through out the years and it does make you sick but there are worse things to lose. I hope your insurance covered it.
Good call about the GPS/home thought. It reminds me that you should never have stickers on your vehicle that can give a thief an idea of what may be in it. Like this truck protected by Smith and Wesson, G Loomis, Sage, Winston Etc…
