Steelhead

My first day steelheading the Brule in northern WI. I drive my wife and family nuts always looking for new places to explore and fish. This one was too small so it went back but there is a bigger one in the brine getting ready for the smoker! I normally never kill a steelhead but with family coming in May I want to have smoked trout, wild turkey, morels, and fresh asparagus when they get here.

I had a terrible spring steelheading. It was great in late February, but most of March sucked for me especially with the early warm up. I still caught quite a few, but much much less than normal.
