I am new to picking Morels I have a patch growing in my back yard. How do I know what kind they are? I have giving them away for about 4 years I heard they are worth money how much money are they worth? I get about 3 to 4 five gallon pails full a year thanks for your help.

Tough to say what kind they would be with out a picture. They could be grays, yellows, blacks, peckerheads........
They price of morels fluctuates just like everything else. If it is a bad year for the amount that people are finding, you might be able to get as much as $35/lb. I would say that the normal going rate is probably around $20/lb.

Just look around to see what other people are selling them for. Remember, you can legally only sell morels if they come off private land!

Just an observation on this season- last year half-frees were everywhere I looked and were discussed ad nauseum. This year I did not find any and only saw one mention of them on forums. Lots of pheasant backs this year.

I didn't find any this year and saw very few found by others too, just the odd year I think did them in.
