Anybody have any experience with these,I see that they are edible but just wondering if they are worth it. I first found some last fall, didn't know what they were though and I have been continually finding them this spring in many spots I look for morels in.

Rob, I would say to find some of the cultivated versions first and try them that way to see if you like them. They go by "enoki" when cultivated and they look completely different that the wild version. The thing about velvet foot is that they look exactly (for the most part) like the deadly galerina so you have to be very careful with them. It seems pretty obvious which are which when you've seen the enough but to be safe you would want to do a spore print on one cap from each cluster you collect. I wouldn't even bother picking a single mushroom growing alone as that's likely the galerina whereas the velvet foot grows in clusters and the caps are rust colored and sort of shiny, especially when wet. They grow off dead/dieing elms. I'm terrible; I find them collect a couple clusters and then forget to do the spore print at home and end up throwing them to be safe.
