Well, I get to work in Idaho this summer/fall with juvenile salmon. I am not leaving yet but get to leave at the end of July. Anyone got some good tips of good edibles out there?

Maybe I will find some of those burnsite morels, though I may get there a little late, but never know. And hear they have a wonderful chant season!

I will be living in East Central Idaho in the Clearwater National Forest!

Id certainly bring a .45 out there. Thats bear country!

.45? I wouldn't go with less than the .44 mag. Especially if you are going to be in the streams taking THEIR fish. .45 would work, but it would have to be a really well placed shot. And if you feel the need to take a shot at a charging bear, you shot might not be that great.

I grew up fishing northern Ut and Southern ID...where are you going to be? Nothing quite like chasing blue grouse and coming home with blues and kings for dinner! I have found black morels near aspens at 8k elevation in July on colder years and my parents have been having a cold/wet year out there. Make sure you take time to float the Henry's Fork at least once (but only in a Hyde /wink /wink). Let me know if you need any info.
