A friend of mine sent me this picture. I am going to go out there eventually to check out his new house. I bought "Mushrooms Demystified" to help me ID unknowns, but I still need to look and figure out how the book is organized. If anyone can get me looking in the right direction I will be grateful!

Dan, As much as I like ID puzzles, I can't even guess at these. The pic on the right is interesting, but w/o a little more info I can't even guess as to whether its a jelly or young polypore.
I think you'll like "Mushrooms Demystified" once you're used to it. It's a little biased towards mushrooms of the far west, but it is the most in-depth "field guide" that I've ever seen. An excellent companion to it is "Mushrooms of Northeastern North America" by Bessette, Bessette and Fischer. It's not quite as complete as MD, but it still covers about 800 species with good keys and Wisconsin falls within its area of coverage.

I should have added more info sooner. I went out to his place and took a look. There is no way that I could even start to identify until we have some new growth. The one that you are saying looks like it might be some kind of jelly, when looked at in person looks more like a discolored dried up oyster. No idea on the other picture.
When there is new growth I will post a better picture with more details.

In the right hand picture, the mushroom on the left definitely looks like a fresh wood ear.
