Same story for north east Wisconsin I picked 2 pounds of apricot chants tonight.A friend drove down from Goodman, and he had a nice batch of goldens. He said the rain really pushed them up.Gotta agree. This last week has been very productive, and with wet, cool weather, things should remain good around here.

I took a 15 mile out and back hike in the North Kettles on Saturday, looks like the rain earlier in the week worked wonders. I found about 40 yellow chanterelles, two cinnabar and 4 chicken of the woods. That was just hiking and spotted along the trail. I am sure last night's heavy rain will bring out even more.

Found my 1st ever chants yesterday when I went out to look for lobsters! Just small patch of about 15 and most were too far gone - but finally found some Also stopped by a stump that had chicken of the woods last year and it is just starting to fruit. Did not find any lobster this time, will have to keep watching for them.

congrats! Finding yourfirst chant spot, or any chant spot is half the battle.keep looking in similar habitats. I don't see many or anyone posting aboutapricot chants.as you all know these are my bread and butter chant, always dependable and heavy flushes. Oak woods, not old growth, blueberry plants, few ferns, river, duck slews on all sides. If you can find a spot with these present, you will be a happy camper for years to come. Keep your eye open for a flash of orange. It will lead you to more in close proximity.clumping often. I hope this might help, as everybody deserves a sweet chant spot to rely on. Good luck all.

I found these yesterday, while hunting on my in-laws' 40 with my youngest son. We only checked one of my chant spots, but found a few other species there too. Pretty soon I think they're going to start charging me for the shrooms I find. My father-in-law just retired and I think I got him interested in shroom hunting, he's been collecting different ones to have me look at while he's out in the woods. Attachments:
