Found several thousand apricot chants today .picked 50 or so. Going back tomorrow to clean up. Most need a day or two to mature. Tonights rain will help. This is my first time posting on this site, hopefully I will be able to upload my pics.

Went this afternoon, got a couple hundred and will be.picking for at least the next week on this flush. They flush till September in this spot. Will post pictures Wednesday as I need a little guidance on that. Good luck !

I have found a ton of chanterelles also but one out of a hundred is not buggy. The only ones that are not buggy are the cinnabars. It is so disappointing. My first year hunting chanterelles and they are all junk...

Brook, you said that it is your first year picking the small chants. It has been my experience that the bugs leave them alone. They naturally have a hollow / semi hollow stem, which you might mistake.as bug damage. They are also if semi dry very fragile, which combined with a hollow stem could lead one to believe they are buggy. You found the spot, that's the biggest battle ! It'll treat you good for years. Good luck,

the chant on the bottom is solid and good. the one on top has holes in the stipe going up to the base of the cap. It looks like the bugs are eating them or maybe they are rotting in the wet weather we have bee having...or maybe i have no clue lol...

Yup, looks like bugs . What flavor of chant are those? The goldens up here are the only ones that I find that the bugs really attack. Nice size shrooms !

Went out to my apricot chat spot Friday afternoon. I picked several hundred again today, but this flush I have been picking on is petering out. It is a oak forest with little ground cover. A few ferns, forest grass, and blueberry plants. Not much more of anything else. I decided to check a nearby cedar swamp that produces two different kinds of chants. A lilac /brown variety and what I call a yellow foot. I saw thousands of baby yellow foot just popping. This habitat if cedar with 100 % Sphagnum moss as ground cover. What is not moss is water. I unfortunately left my phone in my ride, but I picked several to show the difference between the two. Good luck .
