Lets see your photos here of snakes that you see when in the woods. I very seldom see anything but a garter snake here and there. I believe this is a hog nose...gave me a pretty convincing triangular shaped head after this photo but my battery was dead...had a flashback to the jungles of Panama with all the bugs and the snake...

Pretty cool snake. I found a young eastern milk snake once in my driveway, similar looking colors and pattern but I don't think the heads are that wide. I don't have any pics of that one to post at the moment though. I see garter snakes here and there, one of them was several feet long, but haven't run into any hog nose snakes anywhere either. I had a couple of water snakes of some sort swim by my feet while I was fishing a month or so ago, but I didn't get any pics of them, was too busy trying to untangle my line to grab the camera.
