We found these today!! How do you clean and can you freeze or store them for later?

Not sure about storing them, I usually eat them fresh. I snip the bark and stuff off the back and run them under cold water - might have to dig around a bit to get all the foreign matter out. They are pretty good sautéed in butter and garlic and tossed with noodles, just had that for supper last night.

That is exactly how i eat them.you cant buy a dinner like that anywhere. Gonna have to go picking this weekend.yum

I found a nice Bears Head Tooth yesterday in the North Kettles- just driving down a road and spotted it growing in a hole in the trunk of a large tree. My first! :-)

We were visiting someone in town today and I spotted what looked like bears tooth growing on the ends of the neighbors firewood pile. Grandpa Croc went and got a better look, and indeed it was! Already started to turn brown though. Typically I find them late summer, early fall, so we were quite surprised. Looking on past posts here, it appears September is when they have been reported. Anyone else find any in June?
