Despite thinking it is still too early here, I couldn't resist and checked a spot that yielded early for me last year on Wednesday. I was right- still to early. We need some rain and some warm- this weekend looks like it will help. I did make a discovery that day- first wood tick. Found first deer tick of the year on one of my dogs yesterday. Early for wood tick, NOT early for deer tick. Tired of being patient...

Marinetteco, I don't believe you need photobucket to post to the app.

Sorry Mikeologist, I had to remember how to post a photo plus I love pictures to help get my eyes configured. Marinetteco, If you go to your photo on your phone (I use Android) and hit the share button, you can share with tapatalk. When the window opens select mushrooms from the threads page. Another window will open with a blue bar at the bottom that says share with mushrooms. Click the blue bar and a reply window will open with an image link. You have to copy the entire image link, separately open the forum in the app, paste the link to the reply box , and, submit. Thats how I do it anyhow. Hope it will help you and a everyone else trying to post photos.

Went out this weekend to an early spot and still nothing! It's really dry out there. Hopefully the rain this week gets things moving.

And just like that! Oneida county black morels. Yellows and Grays are nowhere near ready, but I had found a spot last year with dried shriveled blacks and decided to check it early.

Spent one hour at there spots Monday morning. I picked about 80 3 inch blacks, with hundreds of real small shrooms around. This coming weekend should be outstanding ! These spots are all public, They do grow there also. Good picking.

Trapperhub- that would be Jack In The Pulpit. Watch for the red berries forming later in the year.
