I had a hour to pick Wednesday, found about 40. Some of my patches have none, but some are coming I strong. Marinette county forest property with mixed hardwood and balsam. Lots of these patches are found off trails and two tracks.Wish I had more time to devote , but super busy. Go get em !

Yes! They are here in Sheboygan county! Went out hunting today and found over 60. Most were on the smaller size, even a few were past prime. Seemed to be in areas where there is a little more sunlight and warmth. It is early in the season, but it has started. Happy hunting everyone!

Good to see others are on em also.I took a walk Sunday and picked a couple gallons of blacks. The out of the way.spots produced way better than roadside spots that are now getting hammered by hoards. The last few years has sure seen an uptick in the number of pickers. With Mondays rain, they should really grow.I'll start looking for our other black variety this week, the fire morels.Good luck.

I found 3 black morels whilst walking the dog yesterday evening in northern Polk County - I guess it's on! Sorry I didn't take pictures, and I already ate them along with a couple spears of ditch asparagus this morning for breakfast. They weren't terribly photogenic looking anyway.

I have been living at my current house for almost 3 years now. I have found a few morels within walking distance, which is cool. Last week I was driving down the road and looked to the east. I saw what I am hoping will be a honey hole. I don't know how I have not noticed this place before! I guess I am always looking out into the field scouting for deer instead.

The hunters were really hitting the Northern Kettle Moraine hard yesterday! Saw cars parked along the road in regular intervals. We did spot 1 fella crossing the road with a mesh bag containing some morels. Also found a morel "stump". Good to know this is a hobby more people are enjoying - But - It is getting very competitive in the woods! Just a quick word of "Thanks" to those who post pictures here.

My three year old spotted his first morel on the way out of the woods. He was so proud, I couldn't get a clear picture.

Went out on Sunday with my son. Everything we were finding were big old yellows. Looks like things are already winding down around here. Need to check a few more late season spots though.
I have never found as many mushrooms full of ants as I did this year. Things like that are going to give me nightmares!
