Could be elm oysters, they do seem to be fruiting, I found one similar on Saturday to those that was the size of a dinner plate, lots and lots of bugs in that one. The first ones I ever found baffled me because they were on a living tree and I thought oysters only grew on dead wood. Took a while to figure out what they were. www.mushroomexpert.com/hypsizygus_ulmarius.html gives a good description of the species so you can check to see if it matches. |
