This weather has me going stir crazy. I need to get outside. My Lilac bush started to put out leaves, then the weather hit. Seeing the leaves made me start having the mushroom hunting dreams.......

Crazy weather indeed! Just finished up syrup season. We started boiling the end of Feb. using the wheeler and trailer. Ended the day before Easter, pulling an otter sled and thinking about putting the snowshoes on.
I feel I should take a moment to thanks the folks who have posted in the past about chaga. Before reading this forum I did not know about it. This last fall when visiting my youngest son, I saw some in his woods and pointed it out to him. Little did I know, that a few short weeks later he would be diagnosed with non-hodkins lymphoma. His Doctors knew exactly what chaga is, and he has been drinking the tea with their blessing. He has collected and dried enough to make tea for the next year. At this time, he feels good. Basically, if you were to meet him you would say he is the picture of health. It was difficult to accept that there is no treatment until it progresses, so drinking the tea is something he can do to be proactive. So thank you to those who have posted about chaga, or this may have been something we were never aware of and it is now very important to us. Hopefully the disease can be held at bay until better treatments are available.

Anyone in the Madison area up for going out on a hunt together? I have been scouting some state parks and some local county parks and have some good areas that have produced in the past. I know I know.. what sharing spots?... unheard of... anyway, I would gladly take a newbie out if they want to learn, or spend the day with another experienced hunter.
Let me know if your game.
