Any tips on finding the blacks. I am moving to manitowish waters and have never hunted blacks before. They should be just coming up now there.

Sol, I have been finding them in a yard with Ash trees. I've been told to look in Aspen Grove as you get farther north of me. I'm in Lake Tomahawk. I've found greys and Yellows as high as Rhinelander. When are you moving? Let me know if you ever want a hunting partner. We get a great flush of Black Trumpets in the summer and they couple with morels to make wonderful soup.

Southern WI, found a handful of these yesterday, hoping to stumble on a patch today. Most found on the top of a slope where ever the sun could reach in to the woods.

Did this thread break or are people so busy filling baskets all posts have ceased?

I'm still waiting for them up in Polk County, although I've heard they are up in Dunn County. I've checked my usual spots yesterday and haven't found any yet, everything is pretty dry up here though. Supposed to get rain this week so hopefully I'll have some soon.

The Madison area seems to be in full picking mode right now. I have been hesitant to report any finds myself. This weekend we did some scouting and sadly found little guys that were stepped on. Also found small stumps. Another tiny one I found on Friday has since disappeared with only a small stump left behind. People are out there picking whatever they find. There is much more pressure than just 3 years ago. Please folks, if you see a promising host tree, and cannot see a morel from 5 feet away, do not go trampling all over the place. It is early and you may be stepping on them.
Trapper - I see 5 for sure, a possible 6th, but when I expand it gets too blurry. How many did I miss?

Hey GC, glad your back! There are ten in the pic. I noticed it gets blurry when you zoom. I'll mess with it and circle then and repost.

Well, guess I could have done better! The 1 I thought might be one was, but still having trouble getting the upper left corner. Rain all day, hope that brings a flush but I think some warmer temps would help.
