2018 Morels

Thanks GC! If you head towards me you can still do very well. We went out today and found another 3 pounds of morels in stages from fresh Grey's to the pics above. As longs as the rain stays away I think m we have a few more days. I've lost track of the season total but can say I've picked morels everyday since Wednesday. This has been a banner year for us. We took the boys to Kohler-Andre park/beach and checked a tree on the way out and found 8 more, they seem to be growing everywhere!

I cannot believe the way this year is going! My son and I went out and found several elm dying amongst the pines. We didn't realize we'd be picking another 3 pounds of freshies. It was a leave the truck running, there probably won't be anything, type of stop that turned into "go shut the truck off, and grab my camera and the bags!". These were some of the most beautiful clusters I've seen to date and wanted to share.

Went out and found some more, but nothing like yours. Was 1 away from 400 and thought that was it. Got home and checked our tree and found that last one. Not prime, but it makes a nice 400.
We lost one of our hunting spots due to the owner passing. Family had told us to still come back, but haven't been able to get through by phone, and now the access is gated.
Did see an oyster cluster, but the heat got the best of it.
