Hello! Good to see some activity. Been a busy spring. Maple season was good to us this year. Trout lilies have started, some even blooming. Found my 1st sprig of asparagus tonight too! Morels are just around the corner. Looking forward to seeing the 1st find in Wisconsin.

Maple season real late for me. Time to move on to morels. Brother recently purchased 70 acres in Alma. Wondering if I'll be too early this weekend after the recent warm snap, and warm rains.

Welcome to the group. We boiled 6 weekends, could have been 7. Made up for last year when we got sick of lugging buckets in the mud. Called it quits after 2 weeks. Please let us know what you find near Alma. I am on the opposite side of the state and usually 2 weeks behind the western side. Another thunder storm here tonight. I am optimistic about this season.

It's been a while since I have been here. I have spent most of my time over at the facebook page / group. Good to see that there are still people using this forum. Good luck this season everyone. Should be plenty of mushrooms for this weekends festival!

Hunters were out this weekend. Lots of competition! Found a mix of greys and small yellows. Dehydrator is full. CP Dan - good to hear from you again.

Gotne3s, getting any morels by you? I was in Eau Claire last weekend and found a few dozen 1inchers. The same went for Wausau when.we went through. You should be in prime picking now I would think!

I've been looking some in NW Polk County, haven't found any yet. We need rain I'm guessing, I don't think we've had any real precipitation since that last snowstorm in April. I watered my morel patch in my yard last night hoping that will get some going.

EC Rob, hope they start soon for you. Have found nice big clusters this year, very fun. Last night went out again. As I'm walking to a tree I picked last weekend, (and someone else had trimmed the thorns back before they picked) I see a young fella crouched down picking! Well, fair is fair, he got there 1st. We had a little chat, and he tells me last weekend his friend called from the Crivitz area where he was turkey hunting. Clear cut area, and morels were everywhere. He drove up there, and the 2 of them picked just over 1600! Not a typo, 16 hundred! WOW! As for me, I did get 40 more from 1 tree that gave me 163 last week. Good year, we will have plenty to last us for awhile. But I'm still hunting!

Well, so far our trip is more about exercise and driving. Our spots in the southwest are sadly riddled with mushy morels. We left hundreds that crumbled when you touch them. The ones we did harvest probably won't survive the trip home, but we are trying to salvage them anyway. We moved north in hopes to find some a little more fresh and sturdy.

Okay, after a couple of T-Storms Wednesday and Thursday nights, I woke up this AM to find a few nice yellows growing in my yard. Guess I had better start looking, thinking I won't have too much time before they're gone for the year.

Great pictures Trapper! It's a shame some spoiled on you. Glad to hear EC Rob had some luck. Haven't gotten out the last 3 days, but the high 80 and 90 degree heat couldn't have been good! Now that the garden is planted, and coop cleaned, I will go out 1 more time. Hopes aren't high, but there is a low spot that always takes time to produce. It would be nice to hear how some of the rest of you have done?
