There are few things I look forward to as much as Morel Season, and that time is slowly arriving for Wisconsin. Last year was an odd year in so many aspects that left us longing for a new spring. I sincerely hope you all have a great season. Please use mesh bags, and always bring a kid along. Happy 2021!!

Thank you for the post Trapper. Wishing you a successful morel season also. This winter we did a couple of those mushroom grow kits from Back to the Roots. It was a fun science type experiment with a bonus of tasty oysters. Must admit that my Grand daughter did much better with hers than I did though. It was fun. Looking forward to hearing the 1st reports of morels in our area.

It has been few a far between for us. Many were frost bit. But, enough for a tasty Mothers day dinner tonight with asparagus. Had a great walk in the woods. At 1 point we were being hailed on! Looking forward to hear of your results.

We got out earlier this week. Everything seemed to be early. However, we managed to find about 2 lbs. Like Grammacroc said, there were plenty with burnt tips but also fresh ones coming up. We even found some big yellows. Going to be interesting to see if there is a better season coming. I talked to a friend in Indiana who said their season really took off about 2 weeks ago. Let's hope the best is yet to come.

Not having much luck. Went out the last 2 weekends and found 3, and 5. The last 5 were past their prime. Grandpacroc was found by a deer tick. Have been spraying clothing with permethrin, (spelling might be wrong) and this was the first time we found 1 while wearing treated clothes. It was attached, but the little tick twister tool took it right off. Best of luck to the rest of you.
