These could be enoki/velvet foots. Look them up in your id book. If they're enoki's, bring 'em by. I haven't tried those yet and have always wanted to.

any ideas on these, not the best picture, but were growing on busted off tree (was broke clean off about three feet above shrooms. They were sticky on caps, had small curved stems. I agree with Patrick that they LOOK like enoki/velvet foot from this view but you really need to make sure it has a white spore print as well as the velvety stems.

Hi ya LJOJO! The bottom shrooms are very old chanterelles. The second, middle ones, are aborted entolomas/hunter hearts (yummy!) and that top one I have no idea. Try those hunter hearts!

Question: I found and picked a bunch of aborted entiloma's as I thought that they were supposed to be good to eat, then did a little reading and according to Michael Kuo, are eddible but are unappetizing and mealy smelling. So i tossed them out. Has anyone eaten them? How are they? I have tons of them in some of my woods.

I saw tons of them in my inlaws' woods last fall whilst hunting for meat, but i didn't try any, cuz I too read Kuo's comments about them. i suppose i should give them a try just in case they're good.

Hunters Hearts...wow love abortive entolomas even more with that name. They are great with a white sauce and pasta...to me they taste like shrimp when fried in butter with salt and pepper. Love them.

It is white baneberry, aka doll's eyes... and don't eat these as they are VERY poisonous.

Sorry bout the crappy pic, i was in a hurry.... my neighbor says the left one is something called a Pachinki... or something... she eats them, but it could be any number of white with pink gills. second one... one of the three i picked seemed to turn yellowish on the stalk when bruised, i tried to recreate this on another one but with no luck... so here is a close up of the right one from first pic. Thoughts?
