Sorry bout the crappy pic, i was in a hurry.... my neighbor says the left one is something called a Pachinki... or something... she eats them, but it could be any number of white with pink gills. second one... one of the three i picked seemed to turn yellowish on the stalk when bruised, i tried to recreate this on another one but with no luck... so here is a close up of the right one from first pic. Thoughts? Here's how I feel about the white mushrooms: Are there any with white gills that can actually be eaten? I tell everybody "just stay away from the white mushrooms..." Seriously, the only white with white gills I can think of that are edibles are oysters and that's an easy ID. Shaggy manes (DON'T EAT IF YOU'VE DRANK WITHIN TWO DAYS BEFORE AND AFTER) are another easy ID. That one on the left though, that looks like a meadow mushroom. If it is, they are YUMMY! Agaricus Campestrus (or something like that). There are other agaricus that have pink gills that turn brown (with brown spore print) but meadow mushrooms grow in empty lots and not associated to a tree. I had found a bunch a couple years ago on an empty lot in my neighborhood but they have since built a house over them. Very sad.

I'm not good with gilled mushrooms, but the first one with the darker gills could be a horse mushroom. Not really sure though.

As far as the meadows go... my campus has been pesticide free for decades... and apparently they are popping up all over the place after each rain... which of course it is doing right now!
