My first Chanterelle hunting trip

Everyone here has motivated me to move beyond morels. I went out to one of my morel spots this morning to see if anything else grows there. I didn't get but 15 feet in on a trail and saw the bright yellow/orange glow of a mushroom. This is going to be easy I said! Now that I am home, I started to do a little more research on the chanterelle. They have the apricot smell that I have heard people describe, but I am just a little unsure on the gill description. I know, "when in doubt, throw it out", but what do you think?

There is one mushroom that I picked because it looked interesting. White steam, pink cap, with gills. It will be thrown out. I have no idea what it is, but I saw a lot of them out there.

I think you know where I found them..... In the woods! . I went out there last Friday during lunch and practically ran thru the woods looking for them. I came out with a couple of had fulls. Gave them to a friend that has never tried them, but is a morel hunter. His entire family loved them.
