VERY IMPORTANT FOLKS...I think there's a little bit of misunderstanding about "bluing boletes" as in, there is an actual "bluing bolete" called the blueing bolete/gyroporus cyanescens. This "bluing bolete" is the edible bluing bolete. So when I refer to eating the bluing bolete, I literally mean the one that goes by that name. Does that all make sense? Otherwise, if it blues, and it's not gyroporus cyanescens, it's likely not an edible unless it's a bicolor and as we've discussed, that's not always going to be a good choice either because it could be a look alike. Oh boy...confusion. I know! Join the WMS people! You can connect with actual mycologists!
