Here is the shroom report for North Kettle Moraine today:
Mosquitos: a lot, but could be worse Chanterelles: look to be ending real soon but I still picked a good 1/2 - 1lb or so. Trumpets: hundreds of them, dried out. no new ones starting. Boletes: a small old man of the woods. That's it. Oysters: a handful of fresh ones. I did manage to walk out with two small oyster logs though. We'll see if they continue to fruit in my yard where they can be provided consistent moisture. Hedgehogs: 2 small guys. a few small buttons starting Hen of the Woods: 0 Chicken of the Woods: one rotten one but I don't pick those anymore anyway.
Fairly underwhelming overall but I'm interested to see what future yields I can get out of the oyster logs.
I suggest starting a forum section where people can report finds and conditions for certain areas, such as Kettle Moraine forests.

Did some geocaching in the Northen Kettles today, 5-11-13. We did see a truck on the side of the road and 2 men looking around a dead elm. Then farther down the road, saw another vehicle and a couple were in the woods. We confirmed they had not found anything yet. We are anxious, but the lilacs are not blooming yet and they have always been a good indicator. Trilliums are just starting to bloom along with the marsh marigolds. Okay, I'll admit it,,, I did check a couple of my early spots "just in case". I'm waiting for earthmom to post her find as she is usually a good week ahead of us. This cold snap we are having right now certainly isn't helping. At least there is fresh asparagus to enjoy!

Oh hey GramaC! Sorry I just noticed your post. I have snooped a little bit...like twice...but I mainly check a bunch of forums, check in with friends, check Facebook and watch the progression of spring to decide when I should go on a my first real hunt this year. BUT our season literally just POPPED here in the far south. So if you are a week behind then by Friday you should start. Good luck! Post pics!
