Don't go on a mushroom hunting trip far from home and forget your mushroom book! I'm sure we passed on some good eats because we just weren't sure what they were.

speaking of books, did one of you snatch up David Arora's "Mushrooms Demystified" from the clearance at Border's in Eau Claire? I saw it there when it was down to $30, which is still somewhat higher than the going rate, but it was gone the last time i went in there. Not angry or anything, just curious to know if it went to a good home. i've been meaning to pick it up, just waiting for a good deal on it. I mainly use Kuo's "100 Edible Mushrooms" nowadays cuz it has a lot of good info on IDing edible shrooms, and points out poisonous look-alikes to watch out for, and how to tell the difference. No keys in it though.

We have Edible Wild Mushrooms of Illinois and 100 Edible Mushrooms. We still would have had to do spore prints and such for any new mushrooms of course, but without a starting point we didn't want to bother with picking them.

robm- I did a search on cheapesttextbooks.com and saw it for as low as $26 after shipping. That may have to be the next book in my library
