adding photos

Hello, since I am a newbie to this, I am wondering how one goes about adding a photo to a post? I can see when a new thread is started, there is an addimage tag, but i am also wondering how do you add a photo to an already existing thread when you just hit reply? do all the photos posted need to be hosted somewhere online through a site such as photobucket as well? thanks !

I personally like hosting the photos on photbucket the best. I think the pictures turn out nicer, but not everyone wants to do it that way. Let me know if you need more help.
