BTW... I was right. According to Mushroom Expert.com.... they are Synonyms! www.mushroomexpert.com/laccaria_amethystina.html "Laccaria amethystea is a synonym. The name Laccaria amethystina was previously misapplied, on the West Coast, to Laccaria amethysteo-occidentalis" Meaning, that TINA was thought to be a different species, but it actually wasn't. Which, if I read right, means that TINA was thought to be a NEW mushroom but it was actually TEA... meaning... I was more right. That, by the way, is why I chose amethysTEA over Tina. AND... the mushroom you posted... Xylaria polymorpha. (hit that "Exalt" button to your left for me!) |
