Waukesha:
Went out for the first time today after work. South facing slope on the edge of the woods, where I usually find them first. Found two greys about 1 1/2". I figure they're still a week or so away, depending on weather for anyplace in the woods.

Hey all, first timer for the forums here. It's my 3rd year hunting, went to check out how my spot is doing before I had school today, and found 7 greys under a single patch of maybe 3 or 4 dying elms. Nothing to spectacular but being my first find of the year it got me excited. Just thought I'd toss up some pics of what I found. I'm in SE WI, also found some good patches of wild leeks that are getting close to being ready to be harvested. Attachments:

Went out again after work today. Found about 50 small greys. Most under an inch. Left all but enough for a burger tonight. Hopefully the frost won't kill them. Starting to think I might know what I'm doing after 30 years at it.

Not to sure how to put up more than one pic at a time, any help?? Here is another just for the heck of it. Here is some info on posting photos www.wisconsin-morels.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=12 Using an image hosting site allows you to put as many pictures in one post as you want to. I haven't made a forum rule regarding this since it hasn't been a problem yet. But I would like make this my first formal request that everyone use photo bucket or a similar photo hosting site. This forum does have a limited amount of storage space. If we were to ever get close to our limit I would have to start deleting old posts containing attachments.......and I don't want to have to do that.

Well, I went to my spot from last weekend. Only found a few that weren't dry/frost bitten. That sucks... No other ones starting anywhere else nearby or any other early spots... WE NEED RAIN!!!!!!

Yeah Blitz, we do need some rain, in a big way. I wonder if the end of April is going to be gangbusters with morels though...if it warms up slightly and stays that way, then rains, they should pop everywhere! I think many trees haven't popped because the soil temp still isn't quite right (thank God) so I'll just bet we still have a chance to have a morel bonanza!

Found these around Middleton today (roadside). Not the biggest, but not the smallest either, and definitely delicious. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Checked an indicator spot where gyromitra esculentas grow and nothing happening here in Wausau. I'd say we're still 1.5 - 2 weeks away from the first grays depending on the weather of course.

New Guy here. Found 4 small greys and 5 med greys in my early spot, Northern Washington county today. They were a little dry but that is ok I will just dry them the rest of the way. I find very few greys on the property couple dozen at most each year only one spot consistently produces. If the usual time frame holds true and we get some rain I should be overrun with yellows in about two weeks.

I was just out hiking through the kettle moraine south unit for the last few days. Nothing seemed to be happening, not even a lot of undergrowth was developed yet. Found a few dryads saddles, but nothing much else...

Waukesha:
Went out yesterday to check on a couple dozen I left last Friday. They hadn't grown much, and were starting to dry out, so I picked them. Ended up with just under 2 lbs. Just stopped at a lone tree in a city park that looked good. Picked about a pound of dry 1 1/2-2" greys. Again, dried out, and some had already popped their spores.

I found 27 little ones yesterday near the Trempealeau area yesterday. First of the year, none of my friends have found any yet. They are mostly north of me where the woods still has very little undergrowth and dry.
