Where are the Black trumpets being found? What counties, etc. Looking for current WI reports.

I found a few small ones in Washington County on June 30th. I think they have since dried up and not grown anymore. Last year I found a few lbs of them in Washington and Sheboygan County. With the lack of rain so far, I'm not expecting to find anymore in SE WI but would be VERY pleasantly surprised if I did.
I'm hoping there will be some in Forest County for this weekend's foray but don't know if they even grow up there.

I found a small cluster of tiny dried up trumpets yesterday near Eau Claire. I haven't seen much else, but i guess i haven't been out looking as much as i was last summer. too much else going on at the moment. my hedgehog / trumpet spot was logged off over the winter, and a person can barely walk in there, let alone see the ground with all the severed tree limbs and ruts in the ground. the mosquitoes are still there though.

Thanks Earthmom...it's good to know the trumnpets are popping. The only ones I've found so far have been old mushy ones from about 2 weks ago or whenever the last big rain came before the last big one. We need to head out together again sometime!

Great find Earthmom. Those are some gorgeous trumpets in the top image. And I don't remember ever seeing any trumpets like the ones in the second image either. I'm still trying to get used to people using the latin names for mushrooms. My way of identifying trumpets is rather non-technical, "regular" and "fragrant." Still no trumpets in any of my spots but lots of chants.

AARON - The Foetidus do grow in the north kettles because that's where I had first found them a couple years ago. I found them in the actual kettles, around the slopes all the way down to the bottoms around various trees.
That first picture is a quandry...I just wonder what kind it is??? I always forget to take pics of them and when I've collected them, they just get eaten along with all the other BTs instead of getting pics first. In my mind I consider them the "fancy" BTs.
This last rain did set off my BTs but we do need more STAT. Hopefully this week will turn out as predicted with rain most days.

Black Trumpets are starting to toot around the north kettle area. They'd be much easier to find if only they did toot like little brass horns. They're still pretty small and resemble short brown cocktail straws sticking out of the ground for now.

Eau Claire county forest was steaming, and very waterlogged yesterday. No trumpets found. Nice pics Earthmom. Thanks for the reports everyone.

I found a few tiny ones in Bayfield Co today. None worth picking.

Anybody finding pickable-size trumpets around Milwaukee (particularly a little north of it)? I've been wanting to drive up to North Kettle Moraine to check on a patch I found last week but am 80% sure they have dried up by now. I'd rather not waste the drive to find just a handful of chants and dried up trumpets.
